But one person the tactic didnt work on was Rogan himself. Using the story as proof of Rogans authenticity amid his fame, Smith says he asked the podcast host to appear in the film rebootbut Rogan had only five words for him.

I fucking email or texted Joe and I said, Hey man, were making Reboot. Do you want to come play?' Smith says on the podcast, as Rogan listens on. And just flat out on Front Street, as true as he can be, [Joe] goes, I hate that acting shit. Thats what you wrote.

Rogan then shared his busy schedule keeps his priorities minimal, adding that he has to say no to everything. But theres no hard feelings, with Smith saying the response was adorable and on-brand for Rogan.

Though Rogan isnt a film buff like Smith, the two still have a lot in commonincluding a love for marijuana. On the podcast, Smith also shares how deep his relationship with cannabis is, especially after his heart attack. The filmmaker tells Rogan that he is high every waking moment, only taking breaks from marijuana consumption when he cant access the drug overseas.

Post-heart attack, I feel like Im living on borrowed time anyway, Smith tells Rogan. So, Im going to spend that time as well as I possibly canand generally in a THC-drenched condition.
