Elton John: Never Too Late Doc Getting Gala Screening at London Film Festival

The documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late” — charting the half-century career of one of music’s most legendary figures — is getting its European Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. The American Express gala will be held on Oct. 10 at the Royal Festival Hall, with John in attendance.

Directed by R.J. Cutler (“Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,” “Listen to Me Marlon”) and John’s husband David Furnish, the feature follows the musician as he looks back on his life and the astonishing early days of his 50-year career in a what’s described as an “emotionally charged, intimate and uplifting full-circle journey.” As John prepares for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium, he recounts the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his early years and how he overcame adversity, abuse and addiction to become the icon he is today.
